Dover Marina as part of its open day on Saturday 16 May have arranged a “Flare Amnesty.” Private individuals can take flares along to Dover Marina between 11am and 2pm and dispose of them free of charge. Entry to the open day, which runs from 9am to 5pm, and car parking is also free on the day. There will be some charitable collection boxes on hand and they hope that people will put in a small donation.

Queenborough YC raises £1600 for Macmillan
Chris Knibbs, secretary of Queenborough Yacht Club, informs us that the club’s open day on Saturday raised over £1600 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The event included a hog roast and boat jumble.
Push the Boat Out Weekend, 17-18 May 2014
If you’d like to have a go at boating, pop along to Wilsonian Sailing Club (dinghy sailing) on Saturday 1000-1700 or Medway Yacht Club (sailboat and powerboat tasters) on Saturday 1100-1600 or Sunday 1000-1300. These clubs are members of the MSBA and will be keen to “show you the ropes.”
