Adam Taylor, Rivers & Paths Manager, Medway Council says, “Owing to a fault with the pontoon gate, we have had to close Rochester Pier until next Monday. Also, I’m working to retrieve traffic cones from the river bed, similar to the life rings.” If anyone can help please contact Adam on 01634 333333 or email@example.com
Upnor Sailing Club will be opening our doors so folks will be able to come and have a chat about our club and its activities. We were founded 58 years ago: our clubhouse in Lower Upnor has great views of the Medway where you can enjoy the view with a drink from the bar, with secure car parking at the rear. We have a busy sailing and social programme and a friendly and knowledgeable membership. We have 84 regularly serviced trot moorings that are accessible from our all tide pontoon. We currently have some spaces available to new members.
Alan Prime of Border Force asks if anyone recognises these abandoned boats. They may simply have drifted off their moorings. The first one is at Motney Hill. Email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll pass the information on.
Medway Cruising Club is running two open days in conjunction with the Watersports Centre and under the RYA Push The Boat Out initative. This is a great opportunity for us to show off our facilities and what we do. The Open Days are on 5 and 6 May. Opening times are 11:00 to 16:00. There will be loads to see and do.
