Cruising AssociationNext Winter Warmer at the Dog and Bear, Lenham, will be on Thursday, 12th March 2015, 8pm. Members will be giving short presentations:

Going to Dover?

The Cruising Association Kent Section inform us that the Port of Dover is hosting a seminar this Friday 28 March at the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club. If you a user, visitor, berth holder or just sailing by you are very welcome to attend this seminar by the VTS team updating us on the changes that are being introduced by  VTS and Port Traffic Control/

The Port of Dover is the only port in the UK where it is mandatory to request permission to enter or leave the port

“Baltic and Back” at Medway Cruising Club, 28 March

Medway Cruising Club invites us to their Strand Clubhouse for a talk on 28 March, at 7.30 pm:

“In 2013 Santy, a Victoria 34 from Chatham sailed to the German Baltic Coast through both through the Dutch and Kiel Canals as well as along the North German Coast. The illustrated presentation will cover where they went and who they met over 16 weeks of cruising. The Baltic is becoming an increasingly significant cruising ground for British Yachts and this is your opportunity to find out why.”

There will also be a talk on Ultrasonic Works electronic antifouling.

Meet James Wharram at Queenborough on 19 April 2013

Queenborough Harbour Trust is proud to say James Wharram will be coming to Queenborough on Friday 19/04/13 and will be giving a talk about the Lapita Voyage. This voyage demonstrates that the Polynesians were capable of ocean travel using traditional designs.

James is stopping off at Queenborough on his way to London to pick up an award from the Ocean Cruising Club and offered to present this talk as he is a Patron of Queenborough Harbour Trust. If you are interested in building a boat, sailing a catamaran or sailing across oceans you will find James highly skilled and able to answer questions.

Cruising Association Winter Talks

The Kent section of the Cruising Association holds winter evening talks on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Early Bird PH, Grove Green, Maidstone, just off Junction 7 of the M20 Tel 01622 734237 [SAT NAV ME14 5TQ]. Non-members are welcome.

The meetings begin at 19:00 hours for those that would like to eat with the talks beginning at 20:10 hours. The charge is £3.00 a head. It helps to know the numbers attending, but don’t let that stop you coming and please “bring a friend”, just a simple email to Ian will suffice. If you forget, don’t let that stop you turning up…….
