The Blackstakes buoy is back!

The Blackstakes buoy on the south side of Saltpan Reach, near Deadman’s Island, mysteriously disappeared a week or so ago. This led to some creative real-time race management for clubs that use it as a racing mark. However we are pleased to announce that the buoy has now reappeared, freshly painted in yellow and black.

2016 River Events

MSBA race markPeel Ports has published an Updated List of Events of which they have been notified. Clubs and Organisations are obliged to notify Peel Ports of organised events taking place on the river such as races and regattas. From this list it would seem that only two or three clubs have done so.

Also, please remember that your club may borrow the two inflatable MSBA race marks (see photo) for races or other events.

Mary Cup, 11 June 2016

Brian Wicker informs us that REYC has accepted a very kind offer from Medway Cruising Club to include the Mary Cup in their Gala so the race will take place on Sat 11 June 2016. Please include this event in your club news. As usual there are prizes for the winners of each section. Further details will be published early next year.

Come racing with Medway Yacht Club

For Medway sailors not connected with the Medway YC:  the Autumn Series starts on Sunday 1st November and is a well attended race series for cruisers of all classes.
