Notice to Mariners 7 of 2026 – Upcoming Maidstone Canoe Club Events

Sunday 24 May
Location: Mill Meadow, opposite Maidstone Rowing Club
Time: 1000–1400 hrs
Mariners are advised that Maidstone Canoe Club will be conducting a public open day involving supervised canoe and kayak taster sessions. Four sessions of approximately 15 participants each will take place between 1000 hrs and 1400 hrs.
Increased small‑craft activity should be expected in the vicinity of Mill Meadow during this period. Mariners are requested to navigate with caution and reduce speed as appropriate.
 
Sunday 7 June
Location: Mill Meadow to Wateringbury (return)
Time: 1030–1430 hrs
A kayak and canoe race will be held between Mill Meadow and Wateringbury, returning to the start point. Approximately 100 craft are expected to participate.
Mariners should anticipate significant small‑vessel traffic along the route between 1030 hrs and 1430 hrs and are requested to proceed at reduced speed, maintain a proper lookout, and follow any instructions issued by event safety boats.
