It would be good to know if the dredging campaign includes an allowance for returning Faversham creek & moorings to their previous state of usability. The Faversham bridge issue is obviously covered by their “ongoing action and activities” (not). The big money will be spent on their commercial operation, do we get anything tangible from them for our money?
Peel ports are a business for commercial activity and have no interest in domestic vessels, this is self evident in many ways, 1, the bridge at the end of faversham creek is still not been renewed, 2, faversham creek is slowly silting up, 3, the red boys to entrance of faversham creek are now so far up the bank you need to find your way in with an echo sounder, 4, the yacht wreak in the fairway is still there a year later, 5, as for dreging well that’s only done for commercial vessels, 6, and national insurance rises for the employer is not to be passed on to the domestic vessels otherwise that’s just another tax for the people to pay which Rachael reeves said would not happen, 7, what’s happened to the kier starmer labour lauding 2% inflation but 8% in your boating pocket, 8, and try and find a visitor mooring in the Chatham end of the river Medway, rarer then hens teeth, 9, as for the kings ferry bridge well thats for commercial big ships, and the railway, who I am sure have little interest in little boats, 10, they make no attempt to control the activities of jet skis that sometimes at chatham & queen borough are irresponsible & inconsiderate with the speed & wake of their vessels, 11, and the elephant in the room the montgomery the ticking time bomb just waiting for a ship to plough into it and what then to the people of sheerness and the domestic sailing boat in the wrong place at the wrong time ?, 12, as I said in the beginning peel ports is a business for commercial docks, ship moorings, dredging, ship monnuvering , loading & unloading, storage, so what on earth do peel ports do for the domestic yachting fraternity in the Medway & swale rivers to warrant any fee at all I mean it’s full of sewage ??? ,
Well said Toni, you have articulated what i have thought for years sailing the Medway.
Another tax that the highrachy can pass onto the people.
