Notice to Mariners 10 of 2026 – Temporary closure of canoe passes

Due to current water level conditions, all canoe passes on the Medway Navigation have been temporarily closed.

The closure is necessary as water levels have fallen below safe operating thresholds, creating a risk that canoes may become unstable or grounded when using the passes.
The situation is being closely monitored, and the canoe passes will be reopened once water levels have stabilised and conditions are deemed safe.
Mariners and river users are requested to take note of this temporary restriction and are thanked for their understanding and cooperation.
