Notice to Mariners 4 of 2025 – Closure of Hampstead Lock for KCC Bridge maintenance

The Environment Agency has become aware of planned maintenance to Hampstead Lane Highway Bridge from 3rd March 2025, for approximately 2 weeks.

This essential maintenance will require access by a pontoon beneath the road bridge, which will block the access for navigation.  As such, Hampstead Lock, and the canal cut will be closed for the duration of the works.
We will issue an updated notice when KCC finish their work, and the lock can reopen.
We apologise for any inconvenience these essential works may cause.
