Personal Water Craft – Queenborough and Swale

As you will have all seen from the recent posts on Facebook there have been
some serious incidents in and around Queenborough and in the Swale Estuary
involving Personal Water Craft (PWC) which has resulted in not only the
Harbour Patrols being launched but also the RNLI lifeboat and Helicopter.

Unfortunately, it is a small group of PWC owners that are giving PWC owners
in the area an unnecessarily bad reputation. The MSBA has agreed to work
with Kent Police, Swale Borough Council, Queenborough Harbour Trust and Peel Ports to see what actions can be taken to reduce and ideally reduce and
ideally extinguish completely the number of incidents that are occurring.

In this respect can we please ask members who witness any incidents in the
Queenborough area or in the Swale to report them to Kent Police using the
following portal.
https://kep.uk.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/queenborough

Please provide as much information as possible, because the more information
that is provided with each report the more chance Kent Police have of
identifying those that are driving the bad reputation.

Jet skis on the queen borough harbour area & trot moorings are all launched from the slipway, but as jet skis do not need a licence from anybody they can come and go how they like, which is their right, if the peel ports and queen borough harbour want to limit this problem of only those who act in a dangerous manner in the queen borough ATL area then insist on registering these vessels and the owners, stop whining and moaning about what they are doing in the river which is dangerous weaving in and out of trot boats and speeding up and around the ATL queen borough area, And get the peel ports to control the area, and the council to register jet skis, then the problem would be a lot less, like the USA who control their rivers by registration of the vessel ownership of the vessel fit for purpose of the vessel life jackets, and patrols, not just pop round have a chat with the jet skis and then bugger of, and the jet skis carry on, every one wants to moan about jet skis which are just motor bikes on the water, as a motor bike on the land they would be prosecuted, but nobody wants to make rules and decisions otherwise it would have stopped a long time ago, jet skis on the water just like motor bikes on the land will push their luck it’s fun to go fast so designate areas give them a place on the river to tear around, other wise just keep moaning and not doing,
