The MQPS was formed in 1985 to save and restore the 1924 built paddle steamer Medway Queen, her full history can be found at the above web-site. After restoration of the hull funded by a heritage lottery fund grant in Bristol, the ship will return to the Medway at Gillingham pier where the fitting out of the ship will be done. From an EU grant we have established a workshop at the pier side, with some eight apprentices and three instructors, plus our volunteers.  We very much want to see the Medway Queen as part of the river Medway and community again, and thus are full supporters  and members of the Medway and Swale boating association. We welcome all interested groups and people to our site, please refer to the web-site for details of contacts and events.
