Peel Ports have been advised by Network Rail that Kingsferry Bridge has an issue (power failure) and cannot lift. The operator has said that engineers are on site but at present have no timescale for rectification.
UPDATE 18.9.2020 Bridge now working again.
The bridge operator said it was a power failure when he aborted the lift for a dredger that had left Ridham. It was fine when I went through an hour earlier. I had radioed from Harty to check opening times and was told they had contractors working on site and would be slotted in when I had arrived. Someone presumably broke something. The dredger had to get back into Ridham Docks.
