Peel Ports advise that the floating dock/converted barge Westmoreland, that has been moored between two large yellow mooring buoys to the north of the Lower Halstow Yacht Club moorings, has sunk. It is still made fast to the two yellow marker buoys fore and aft but is covered at high water. The centre of the barge between the two yellow buoys is marked by floating pellet buoys. Mariners should navigate with caution due to this submerged danger to navigation. Approximate position 51 23.00N 000 40.60E. The owner is aware and will be dealing with the situation.

Clubs are invited to run a stall for free at Hollowshore Cruising Club’s boat jumble sale on Sunday April 28 from 1030. The sale is beside the clubhouse at the Youngboats yard, by the head of Oare Creek in Oare Road, Faversham, ME13 7TX. Whilst there is no charge for stalls run by HCC members or visitors, a 10% contribution to HCC club funds is expected from all sales. There is also no entry charge for those who just want to browse the stalls for bargains. The bar will be open from around noon, and there will be refreshments. Queries to Mike Riches, HCC secretary, at firstname.lastname@example.org. “We are keen to attract new members, so this is a good opportunity to pop in and see what we have to offer. An ideal opportunity for dinghy sailors thinking about moving up to a cruising boat,” says Mike.

It’s a good idea to book a meal (by 5pm please) on 01622 858219 for 7pm before the talk. A special CA 7-choice menu is available for £9.95
