MSBA AGM and business meeting, Hoo Ness YC, 29 Nov, 6.30 for 7pm

Please make sure your club or  organisation is represented at the MSBA Annual General Meeting at Hoo Ness Yacht Club on 29 November 2022 at 6.30 for 7pm, followed by a Business Meeting.

For those of you who are not familiar with the location of Hoo Ness Yacht
Club, from the crossroads at the centre of Hoo village, take the road downhill
towards the church. It’s called Church Road. After 200 yards, past the
shops, turn left into Vicarage Lane. Just before you get to the industrial
estate you will see a bus stand on your right. Before this, turn right into
the marina park estate and carefully follow the signs to Hoo Ness Yacht
Club. Watch out for the speed bumps.

The official postcode is not helpful. Best to aim for ME3 9TW. For even
better directions see www.hooness.org.uk/findus.php

At the AGM, there will be the election of officers for the MSBA committee. Please consider volunteering for the committee as there are vacancies.

As this is the last meeting of the year before Christmas, refreshments will be provided and there is a bar in the clubhouse.

If you didn’t receive the agenda and minutes by email please contact info@msba.org.uk. We look forward to seeing you there.

MSBA Business Meeting, Tues 27 Sept, Queenborough YC

Please ensure that a representative from your club/organisation can make it to our business meeting, at Queenborough Yacht Club on Tuesday 27 September 2022 at 7pm. This is at 7 High Street, Queenborough, ME11 5AA. There is plenty of parking nearby.

Your club’s nominated contacts should have received an email with the agenda and June minutes. If not, please contact Diane Jury at secretary@msba.org.uk

MSBA Business Meeting Tues 28 June, Gillingham Marina

Please ensure your club or organisation is represented at our next quarterly business meeting, which will be at Gillingham Marina on Tuesday 28 June at 7pm. If you’d like to get a drink before the meeting please gather at the Quarterdeck bar (near the boat hoists) from 6.30pm. Depending on numbers, the meeting will most likely proceed at the marina’s Leisure Centre with its superb view of the river. The marina’s security staff will give you directions if it’s your first visit.

The agenda and minutes will be emailed out shortly. If you don’t receive the email please contact secretary@msba.org.uk with your contact details.

MSBA Business Meeting, Tues 29 March, by ZOOM

Due to the rapidly rising numbers of COVID 19 cases throughout Kent and the number of cases that arose after a recent local club gathering, the committee has decided that the MSBA quarterly business meeting, next Tuesday, 29 March 2022 will be a virtual ZOOM meeting. It is disappointing, especially after our excellent face-to-face AGM and business meeting at Rochester Cruising Club in November, but we look forward to holding a future business meeting at Queenborough Yacht Club as soon as the situation improves.

The Zoom link, agenda and minutes will be sent out by email to members shortly. If you don’t receive this in the next two days please email info@msba.org.uk with your contact details.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant, Sat 4 June

Calling all vessel owners – historic, commercial and recreational! On the afternoon of Saturday 4 June 2022, the River Medway will play host to the Platinum Jubilee Medway River Pageant, featuring a parade from the lower reaches up to Sun Pier, Chatham and culminating with ‘The Great Cacophony’ – a wall of sound from ships to shore – the event will be a grand spectacle. If you are interested in taking part in the event, please register your interest no later than Friday 11 February.
The event is likely to be popular and, in order to maintain safe operations, there will be a restriction on the numbers taking part, so registration is not a guarantee of participation. The final event plan will be released once vessel registrations have been received and processed.
