This week-long event will commemorate the 350th anniversary of the Battle of Medway, also known as the Dutch Raid of 1667. There will be a sail-past or pageant and the event will culminate in a spectacular Medway In Flames on 17 June.

  1. Lets hope the council get some support from ALL local boating clubs this time especially the motorboat fraternity ..Notable lack of support regards the Medway River Festival and other events in previous years.
    Lack of publicity ?

  2. Fred, the Council uses a partial and very out of date email list for their contacts in the boating community, so unsurprisingly they get a poor response to their communications. The MSBA has repeatedly offered to comunicate on their behalf with invitations to participate in these events. There is a planning meeting on 14 December at the Corn Exchange, which we hope many more will attend.

  3. All looking good.Lets hope more of the Medway boating community take the trouble to go and greet the Dutch Flotilla as they sail up on Thursday morning.
